An Extremely Goofy Anniversary

Our friends over at This Day in Disney History want to remind us that exactly 8 years ago today, An Extremely Goofy Movie was released on home video which stars Jim Cummings as the villain you love to hate, Goofy’s neighbor Pete.

While we will leave it up to you how you choose to celebrate this momentous holiday, Amazon seems to be celebrating in the only way they know how but taking a decent discount off of An Extremely Goofy Movie on DVD.

But what do you think? Did you like this movie? How does it compare to Jim Cumming’s other work? If you’ve never seen it, go ahead and queue it up on Netflix or Blockbuster and judge for yourself. While we are on this topic, what is your favorite Pete moment in all of the history of JC playing him? Leave us a comment below and let’s get the discussion started.

My take? A Goofy Movie is one of my favorite movies and soundtracks both so the sequel never really had a chance to live up to my expectations. I liked it enough that it isn’t dead to me like some of the direct to video sequels but it didn’t blow me away.

Now, if you excuse me, I am going to go sing “On the Open Road” very loudly to myself, playing all the characters.
