Look, I never knew who JC was before my two year old daughter picked up a small obsession with Winnie the Pooh (much like her mother before her). Then I come to see he was worked on some amazing projects in the past including Baldur's Gate, The Tick, EVEN DUCKMAN for crying out loud. I think the man deserves a little more attention then he currently gets, unless he doesn't want it.

Let's face it, as soon as someone achieves any sort of notariety, they will become a target for public mud-raking. I don't care if you're the pope himself, someone is going to see something bad about you for what-ever reason. I have yet to read the article debasing JC, but I will say this right off the bat, whatever it says will probably be no worse then what future critics have to say about Mr. Cumming's work. I saw no sign of racism in that trailor. A question I'd like to pose a little pre-maturely is this: was the author of the review in question black? If so, then fine, there "may" (note the quotation marks) be some validation there. If not, then who the hell gave this guy the authority to determine what black people find offensive?

Are we forgetting a little blockbuster called...umm...THE WATERBOY??!!!!?? Louisiana lovers will tell you that their land is filled with folks-white AND black alike-who talk like this. It isn't profiling, it is honoring them with a character that is obviously well studied. Don't you think Disney's legal department would have nixed this flick if they thought it was defamitory? The company is in enough finacial trouble without a racially-charged flop. I hope folks will give Disney a chance with this one. It already impresses the heck out of me that they are taking this one back to drawn animation.
It isn't as if the firefly is performing in black-face. Ted Danson did that, and he still got signed for Becker.
