Reviews are pouring in all over but if you want to experience the full spectrum, here is the review from trade publication Variety and then here is the opinion of the masses over at Amazon. There is also a nice little preview clip of the movie on Amazon that gives you a few seconds of Jim Cummings.
If you don’t mind not being the one to get it yourself, with only 19 hours left, someone is offering up for sale Jim Cummings’ autograph. No bids on it yet so you should be able to win it pretty easily, I say!
On August 23, 2008, Disney hosted a lavish premiere for The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning on Catalina Island. Jim Cummings was in attendance but, so far, no photos of him have surfaced.
For more information about the event, however, please visit this great article from MovieVine.
For pictures of everyone else at the star studded event, see here. (You will, like me, find yourself outraged at every random scrub that somehow got their picture taken in place of JC who is actually IN the movie.)
Just a quick heads up that if you enjoy JC’s voice guiding you through your video game playing hours, he plays several roles in the video game for The Golden Compass including Duke of York Servant, an Armored Bear and various other voices.
While you won’t hear JC in any of the animated films this summer, he does have a surprising connection to several of the films making big bucks at the theatres this summer.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army – While you won’t see JC’s trademark beard in the new installment of the Hellboy franchise this summer, you will hear him as Tom Manning in Hellboy – Blood and Iron. This animated prequels (which even my mom enjoyed, a rarity!) sets the stage for the film currently in theaters and also feature nearly the entire cast of the feature film reprising their roles.
The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor - While Rick O’Connell and family will not be getting any help from Jim Cummings against the undead armies of the Dragon Emperor in theaters this summer, they will go head to head with Jim Cummings when he stars as Imotep (the original Egyptian mummy from the first two films) in The Mummy – Quest for the Lost Scrolls. This short lived animated series is available on DVD and has a popular cult fan following.
Batman: The Dark Knight – How can Heath Ledger’s performance of The Joker possibly be better than Jim Cummings as Jekko the Clown on the Batman animated series?
Save yourself the ten spot that most movies cost now a days and rent one of the movies above for the summer movie experience, Jim Cummings style.
Jim Cummings continues his role as King Triton in this new DVD released prequel. The DVD is set to be released on August 26th, 2008, but you can pre-order your copy now on Amazon.

Memorable Quotes
I have four daughters, with the two youngest being four years old and a year and a half. When one of my older daughters was in sixth grade, a classmate brought in their talking Winnie the Pooh doll for show and tell, so the next week my daughter one upped her classmates and brought me to school in for show and tell. — Jim Cummings, Star Wars.com: Jim Cummings: Voicing a Space Pirate
