Jim Cummings is nominated for a Daytime Emmy!!!

Woohoo!

Jim Cummings was announced today as a nominee for the daytime Emmy of Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for his portrayal of Tigger in Disney’s My Friends Tigger and Pooh. See the full list of nominees here.

This is Jim Cummings’ first Emmy nomination so this is very exciting news for him and for us fans. He is up against some serious competition though so we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed.

It seems sort of crazy that of all the roles he’s had, he finally gets nominated for this one, especially since it is neither a role he originated nor Pooh which he has been playing longer. Either way, it is fantastic to see him get this recognition.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMER IN AN ANIMATED PROGRAM
Joan Rivers as Bubbe on “Arthur”
Jim Ward as Eyemore the Crusher on “Biker Mice from Mars”
Jim Cummings as Tigger on “Disney’s My Friends Tigger and Pooh”
Vanessa Williams as Mama on “Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies”
Amy Poehler as Bessie Higgenbottom on “The Mighty B!”

  • YES! I’ve been a fan of Jim Cummings for a few years now. He was the person who first got me interested in Voice Actors themselves. I grew up on Darkwing Duck and Pooh, and it is great for him to get recognition.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed, though he deserves to win.
