Jim Cummings. “Cummings is amazing,” voice actor Gene McGarr once said. “He can do Russians, he can do wolves, and he can do Russian wolves.” Cummings voices Fuzzy Lumpkins on “The Powerpuff Girls,” provided many of the voices on “Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers” and “Darkwing Duck,” and took over Winnie-The-Pooh from the late Sterling Holloway.

Extremely low profile, Jim Cummings finally launched an official website! JimJCummings.com doesn’t have much on it at the moment, but it looks like it has a lot of potential.

Some highlights that JC fans will definately want to check out are as follows:

  • Contact info (including an email address!) for JC
  • A vault of vintage clips and videos
  • Photos of his lovely daughters (the first time I have ever seen a photo of them, myself)
  • The Andy Warhol style painting of his wife seen in the video of his home tour

Behind the Mic just posted a great article and interview with voice over actor Cam “Buzz” Brainard, best known as the announcer on the Disney Channel. In it, he shared the following little backstage tidbit about Jim Cummings.

Honestly, the only time I’ve ever been nervous was while doing
animation. My first time I was in a room with Jim Cummings, Rob Paulsen
and Charlie Adler. I knew I could do the character that I was hired to
do but when the director started asking things like “who can do the
parrot voice, the scientist and the French Chef” I about crapped my
pants. The last thing I wanted was to be in a “voice-off” with these
legends of the animation world. The funny thing is I’m now friends with
those guys (their incredible talents still scare the crap out of me).

“Jim Cummings gets the Fly Award For Being The First Fake Brit She’s Heard Not To Pronounce The Prefix ‘Anti’ Like An American With A Long I. Hear that, everyone? It’s pronounced an-tee. With a long final i.”

This is a little unusual but since things have been a bit slow around here, I thought I would share it. While surfing the net, I stumbled upon this blog. The author writes Hunchback of Notre Dame fan fiction and does some fan art and his or her favorite characters of the moment are the palace guards at the beginning of the film. Since they are unnamed, the artwork identifies them by the names of the voice over actors and, as such, one of them is named Jim Cummings.

Though I could be wrong, I suspect this might be the first and only time that there has been fan fiction or fan art about Jim Cummings himself.

Has anyone ever seen any elsewhere on the web?
